For its 10th anniversary, the gala will take place at L’Olympia on May 9. During the ceremony, more than 26 awards divided into 6 major categories will be given out. To analyze the entries, 11 committees were formed, each featuring 3 professionals from the industry with complementary expertise. The 33-member jury was presided over by Steve Couture, cofounder of the Canadian leader in digital entertainment and video games Frima and copresident of Go-Élan.

During the deliberations, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the projects, especially those by Quebec game developers. A few years ago, there were very few local producers, but now, we make world-class products. As a young industry, we must unite and make joint demands regarding the financing of original projects. There is still work to do if we want to remain at the top and stand out thanks to our innovative productions! This 10th edition of the NUMIX AWARDS proves that our local talent is impressive, and we must continue to properly support it.” Steve Couture, president of the jury of the 10th edition of the NUMIX AWARDS

Ten years already. Since the beginning of the contest, we’ve noticed much evolution. So much so that today, Quebec companies position themselves favourably on the international scene. Many of the productions presented at the gala have been successfully exported. The NUMIX AWARDS are a great opportunity to share our expertise, but also to celebrate the achievements of our industry, which propels Quebec all around the world!” Marie-Josée Lachance, director of the NUMIX AWARDS

About the NUMIX AWARDS
Since 2010, the NUMIX AWARDS have recognized the excellence of multimedia productions in Quebec. As the only event honouring original digital content, the NUMIX AWARDS Gala is the largest gathering of digital producers in Quebec. This peer recognition via different juries comprised of professionals from the cultural and digital industry makes the NUMIX AWARDS a special moment that goes beyond mere competition. Each edition takes the form of a forum where producers and artists can meet, share, think critically about the year’s productions, observe current trends and in the process, pave the way for unprecedented developments. Over time, the NUMIX AWARDS Gala has become a breeding place for ideas and innovation. These awards are an initiative of Xn Quebec and a presentation of the Canada Media Fund, made possible with the financial support of the City of Montreal, Bell Media, National Bank, Radio-Canada, Loto-Québec, Export Québec, the Quebecor Fund, Télé-Québec, La Fabrique Culturelle, SODEC, Made Nous, Créateurs en série, the Independent Production Fund, and Hub Montréal.
